2019 was a record-breaking year for Angry Crab Shack franchise growth, financial performance and charitable giving. Among our year of milestones, we reached $20 million in corporate sales, donated more than $145,000 to Arizona-based charities and signed our first franchise agreements outside of our home state of Arizona.
As our brand grows, we look forward to continuing to give back to the communities we serve while offering guests a delicious, unique dining experience nationwide. Let’s take a closer look at our achievements in 2019 and our plans for the coming year:
Franchise Growth in 2019 and Beyond
2019 was a banner year for Angry Crab Shack franchise expansion. We signed agreements for seven franchises – three in Arizona and four outside of Arizona. Last year, we focused on breaking into new markets and expanding across the U.S. Our efforts paid off, and we recently signed agreements in Atlanta, Georgia; Orange Beach, Alabama; Parkland, Florida; and Arlington, Texas.
“This past year was a successful one for our team, and we don’t plan on slowing down,” said Andrew Diamond, President of Angry Crab Shack. “Our national brand recognition skyrocketed and aspiring business owners want to bring our concept and culture to their hometowns, which is incredible.”
Prioritizing Charitable Giving Every Step of the Way
At Angry Crab Shack, giving back is in our DNA. In 2019, we donated more than $145,000 to three Arizona-based charities: The Arizona Housing Coalition, The 100 Club and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. That brings our grand total donated to local Arizona organizations to more than $220,000 over the past three years.
“Our number one priority is and always will be our guests and their experience,” said Andrew. “We want to be a household name in states all across the country. Even more, we want our culture and dining experience to be memorable, and one of the ways we do that is through charitable giveback and partnerships. We’re working to provide resources to our franchise owners so they can replicate what we’ve built in Arizona – being able to donate nearly $150,000 to people that need it most in our community was one of my favorite milestones of 2019.”
Plans for 2020
We’ve laid the foundation for explosive franchise growth, and we’re well-equipped to continue expanding our national footprint through franchising in 2020.
“Having worked hard to build a strong infrastructure, we’re now able to place an emphasis on franchise growth in 2020,” Andrew said. “We’re ready to break into new markets, like Nevada, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Utah.”
We anticipate opening two more locations in Arizona and awarding 15-20 new franchises nationwide in the coming year.
We also plan to explore delivery options and additional menu options for guests with dietary restrictions in 2020. As always, we are also focused on perfecting our training and support for both franchise owners and employees to continue providing an unmatched experience and corporate culture.
Angry Crab Shack is making a splash nationwide with our irresistible seafood and fun, memorable family dining experience. As Americans continue eating more seafood each year and the seafood boil trend grows, we’re showing no signs of slowing down.
